Perfect Dresser

I can't believe I didn't take a before pic of this dresser! It looked the same as the nightstand below..
Anyway, I bought this to redo and sell. And of course, fell in love. So when I buy furniture or accessories, I don't buy anything I wouldn't mind keeping. Half the time I end up keeping it because I can't part with it, and half the time I sell it. I know, I'm crazy. For 5 nights in a row, I'd lay in bed and try to come up with a price for this dresser. After 5 nights, I came to the realization that there wasn't a chance in heck I was going to sell it. I HAD to keep it. I couldn't even come up with a high enough price!! Honestly, if I could design furniture, I'd design this dresser, and how often do you come across a piece of furniture like that?? I think the only reason I'm good at this, is because I LOVE furniture. Seriously, each piece becomes like a puppy to me. I think I should have been a furniture designer. The only problem is that I'd buy everything I designed...Back to the dresser! I had to paint it white, I am in love with white. When Jake and I first got married, our WHOLE HOUSE was black. Literally, black couches, black accessories, black tables..One day I said I'm drowning in black, and I painted everything white or sold it and bought white. I don't think I can ever go back..
I love this picture frame! I'll put a pic in it, but I love it.. And of course, I love the dark walnut top...

This is my DREAM hardware. This dresser wouldn't be the same if even ONE piece was missing. This hardware is AMAZING! Have you ever seen hardware like this???? Seriously???
The detail. Oh how I love detail. I know it's not for everyone, but it's definitely for me! I love the curvy lines and the pretty turns. I'm so happy to get to look at this dresser every day!

Sigh...True love...
And yes, I am a dork and I belong in a furnitures addicted anonymous club. I'm aware of the problem. The saddest part is that painting season is over here. The rain has begun. I don't know what I'm going to do! I'll figure out a way to do it...
PS, I'm still debating doing a LIGHT glaze on it. Any thoughts? I keep going back and forth.

Last piece for Boutique

Isn't this the coolest antique cabinet? Even before the re-do...
I've been saving this Lemon Pepper paint color for MONTHS, just waiting for the right piece..
I heavily glazed and distressed it.
I actually left the hardware with its original brassiness. It's perfect!
I can see this in a hall. It would look soo good!
I love it! There's nothing like a unique piece of furniture to make your house stand out...This will be at the boutique on Saturday. Yay! I think I'm ALMOST done. I won't officially be done until every piece of furniture has sold! :)

SURPRISE!!

For those of you who faithfully check my blog, I thought I'd show you an EARLY surprise! When I buy furniture, I try to envision what it will look like when it's done. Sometimes it looks exactly how I envision, sometimes it turns out FAR better. This is one of those pieces. I am S-M-I-T-T-E-N!!
There are 2 of these bad boys. Perfect nightstand or end table.
The dark walnut top is amazing. The grain is GORGEOUS.
Nothing compares to the contrast of dark walnut and crisp clean white.

The antiquing just ties it all together. Don't you love the hardware too?? If I had room for these, they'd stay for sure. These are my favorite pieces that will be at the boutique.
If you have to have these, come EARLY. $250 for the pair. If you know how much furniture is brand new, you'll know this is a STEAL. Not to mention the fact that they're solid wood and BROYHILL. I'm jealous of whoever gets to display these in their home!

Emery's Room

I found most of the picture frames and paintings at Target.  The letters at Hobby Lobby.
 Bedding from Pottery Barn Kids.
I couldn't find the right lamp anywhere. So I bought a plain white one, added ruffle ribbon and some glitter..

I changed all the white hardware for soft pink hardware.
I embroidered her name and added fun flowers and clouds. LOVE the whitewashed little box..
I didn't want to pay $50 a curtain from Land of Nod. So I made my own. I bought the under curtains from Pottery Barn Kids. The top pink ones I made and added ruffle ribbon to the top.

I love that Emery's room is bright, cheerfuly and pure girly!! I'm going to change it soon to a big girl room, so I thought I'd share her nursery with all of you. I don't know why but it's going to be really hard to change her room!! :( Our house is slowly getting there, one room at a time. I'll share as it all comes together!

Boutique

I thought I'd post what will be at the boutique for those who have asked. I love to paint with color, but I thought I'd stick with white (since it looks good in EVERYONE'S house) for the boutique. Anyway, this is what will be there.

I have to remind you I'm definitely not a photographer. I am MORTIFIED that some of these pictures are in my garage, and not well set up!!! Sorry!!!!

I'm also hoping to have another queen bed (headboard and footboard), another long dresser, and possibly 3 nightstands. I'll keep you posted!!

Dresser Number Three-French Provincial

I keep forgetting before pics! It was a 40 year old cream color with yucky gold and touched up tan. BLAH! Removing the tan and gold was the hardest part.
So crisp and clean now. Sigh...
Love the curves of the french provincial dressers...
French provincial is one style I DON'T antique. I just think it should be feminine and pretty...
Amazing how much better my pics look when it's sunny!
 Love it!
Dresser number 3 is DONE! Haleluia!! I really really wanted to paint this one hot pink, but I'm going to take it to the boutique, so I decided to keep it safe with classic white. I know, you're all probably bored of white. Color will return SOON! But here it is, and I love it!
And this is how I entertained my two sickies. They needed a break outside as badly as I did. It was WELL worth it! They are the BEST!!!

DOOR for a HEADBOARD LOVE

Before you read this, I can't take ANY credit for this idea! This is all due to my BF Jeni. She is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Seriously, amazing. She is a decorating GENIUS. One of these days she's going to send me pics of her house to post on my blog. No pressure Jeni, no pressure....... ;)
Ok, needing a new headboard?? This is a GREAT way to have a headboard on a limited budget!! It's an old DOOR!! The before pic is on my other laptop, I'll add it tomorrow. Anyway, I bought an old door in Utah (this summer) for $30. Sanded the crap out of it. Painted it white and glazed it with a walnut stain. Jeni and my parents helped me on this. It's in our guest bedroom right now.
I still need to build up the legs, that's for another day, and I'll do a tutorial. For now, isn't it cute? For $50 everyone can have a NEW/old Headboard!!! Love it????

This dresser had some deep scratches and dents.  I loved it though and with a lot of sanding, some wood filler and a little TLC, it turned out just as great as I thought it would. I didn't want to post pics of it yet, I'll explain below.

Nothing beats a crisp white with antiqued edges. NOTHING. I love it.
I love the details of these handles. I bought some new handles to attach to these two pieces.
I wish I had time to stage things right now, but I'm getting ready to do a boutique at the end of the month. Add two kids, a part time job and a hubby that works 80+ hours a week and that doesn't leave much time for pretty details. Sigh..
Isn't it pretty? And yes, I am going to SCRUB my driveway with mineral spirits.
This is my cutest little helper. I try to entertain her any way possible.
So this is why I didn't want to post it yet. This dresser also came with an enormous hutch! I am dreaming of covering up the mirror and turning it into a beautiful changing table system or an entertainment center. I am PRAYING my kids get better asap so I have time to do this before the boutique. I don't know how I can be outside painting with two sick kids inside. Ugh! Poor kids.. Wouldn't that look amazing though????
